OTHER'S RESEARCH INTO EARLY MORMON HISTORYThis page is devoted to those that would like to share their own research into early Mormon history but do not have a web site to do so. The historical information should fall under the category, "the history the Mormon Church doesn't want you to know." Please submit your research to engineer_my_dna@mindspring.com and be sure to state whether you want your e-mail included with the information. The research must be your own, and you need to provide permission for me to publish it on my web page. If you know of a web site that already publishes the information I will provide a link to the information here.
MOUNTAIN MEADOWS MASSACRE "THIS HISTORY IS WITHOUT A DOUBT THE MOST ....EMBARRASSING ..HUMILIATING .. DEMORALIZING .....LEAST KNOWN ...ACT OF ...VENGEANCE ...AND ....HATRED ...THE MORMON CHURCH EVER COMMITTED IN THE WESTERN UNITED STATES DURING IT'S SO CALLED MIGRATION AND SETTLEMENT IN THE NEW ZION. AND ALL IN THE NAME OF GOD..." This quotation is from George Oliver's book, "Signs and Symbols", published during during the 1890's. The quotation from Oliver's book will provide an idea of what the Masonic perceptions were during the same general time period of the LDS temple ceremony development. Notice in this quotation the references to the Apron, Ephod, the White Stone, the Garment to be worn always, the Left-shouldered Sash, and the Garments of Adam and Eve. While reading this citation keep in mind that the author is talking about Masonry and not Mormonism. At that time period Masons were placing much more emphasis on religious ideas than they do now.
